Rare Midcentury “Platone” Folding Desk by Giancarlo Piretti, 1970s. Designed by the renowned Giancarlo Piretti and produced by Anonima Castelli in Italy during the 1970s, this Platone folding desk is a true gem of midcentury design. Exceptionally rare and in outstanding condition, it features the original maker’s signature on the underside.

Intended as a companion to Piretti’s iconic Plia chair, the Platone desk is also part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York—underscoring its cultural and design significance.

The vivid blue tabletop pairs beautifully with its bold, functional design, supported by a sleek metal frame on one side. Compact yet striking, this piece is perfect for a modern or midcentury-inspired studio, workspace, or children’s room.

In good vintage condition with some use and wear on chrome.
